Judge Judy For President!!!

Today, we were talking about the Supreme Court. I was telling the kids about how President Bush was nominating people to fill the spots in the Supreme Court. One little girl eagerly raised her hand and said she thought the best person for the job would be Judge Judy! I died inside with laughter. Anyway, I am trying to teach my kids to crochet. Some are doing pretty well. I am pleasantly suprised. Have a very Happy Halloween! I sure can't wait until tomorrow when all of the kids bring their collosal bags of candy. It should be a very low key day!

Another Day in Paradise

In English, each student is writing a story that has ten chapters. We just started and have only completed one chapter. One student misunderstood the directions and was up all night trying to complete his ten chapter book! I feel horrible, but hey, not listening is a bitch!

The Crappy Tooth Fairy

Today, One little girl told me that she lost her tooth last night. I asked if she had a dollar under her pillow this morning, and she replied, "Nope, My parents suck at being Tooth Fairies." That just really made me giggle. My day is pretty slow so far.

Say Cheese Stupid

We had class pictures today and that was a mess. The photographer was, by far, the meanest person I have every met in my life. What a perfect job to have when you are mean--making small children smile. Anyway, pretty good day so far. Got to run!

I'm no Mavis Beacon!

Ok, I had no idea how slow 10 year olds are on the computer! I had the brilliant idea to have my students type out their science reports. It has taken absolutely forever. I really had taken for granted their knowledge of keyboarding. To watch them peck out each letter, just about drove me ape crazy. I finally went around and helped each student type half of their report. I think I saved them each a good 2 hours! Anyway, the day is going by pretty quickly. We are going to finish up decorating pumpkins today. One student is doing an eyeball and the stem is painted red to be the vessels on the back of an eye. It is really disgusting. I want to gag every time I see it. Anyway, I better get back to the cherubs.
